"Creating a space that feels safe enough for you to explore your feelings deeply, feel heard, and start to heal."
About Me
Person-Centred Psychotherapist.
Hello. I am an empathic and professional psychotherapist. I work in a person-centred way which means that I respect you as the expert in your own life.
I believe the therapeutic relationship is the vehicle for healing and will create a safe and accepting space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings. Your therapy will be as unique as you are and I am passionate about working with you in a way that will allow you to create the changes you are looking for.
Training and Accreditation
I am trained to MSc level in person-centred and experiential psychotherapy. I am accredited with the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapists, UKCP, which ensures I have a high level of training and experience including undergoing therapy myself and remaining updated in my practice. For your safety I abide by their code of ethics.
Experience
Before becoming a psychotherapist I worked as a nurse and midwife and enjoyed working with people in all their amazing diversity. I saw people's strength at their most vulnerable moments and learnt to be with them through these difficult times. I have worked as a specialist midwife in mental health, supporting women through their pregnancies and beyond.
I have counselled at MIND the mental health charity and Macmillan for bereavement. I also volunteered for a charity offering counselling to those with a low or no income.
My Practice
My counselling room is found in Bowden Hall in Marple. It is spacious and comfortable and somewhere I hope you can feel at peace. As well as face to face sessions I offer counselling by phone or on-line. There is dedicated parking for the duration of your appointment.
